The spedo digital readout is streaked and almosr impossible to read, on my 2005 Dolphin. Any suggestions. Replacing the entire Workhorse spedo is my only option so far. Ouch!

Do a search for "actia" and you will find plenty of reading about a lousy product provided to unlucky Workhorse owners to deal with on their own $$$.
The LED readout is a separate unit and is separately replaceable, per my understanding.
Mine is unreadable, and the option on the table is $760 for a W/H dealer to replace the LED. I have read that if you contact Actia directly, you MIGHT be able to get a recycled unit for $300 or so exchanged, and put it in yourself, and if you're lucky, it might last half as long as the original.
In their piece of brilliant engineering, in addition to making a POS* display, the chassis information is stored in that module, like the miles, max. RPMs, etc.
*Definition: Piece Of $**T
I'm not bitter. I love paying for other's mistakes. After all, I pay taxes.

A really cheap way is to get Microsoft Street & Trips and have it loaded on a laptop which you can use going down the road (my wife uses it as we drive). It shows the speed you are driving all the time.

My Seabreeze '05 speedo odometer failed about three years ago. I had insurance at that time, but they wouldn't pay for a new unit, I got a refurbished one instead. It is still working OK.

I removed & replaced mine 3 yrs ago. Mailed it in and got new unit in 10 days time. Piece-of-cake. Like the improved new orange color.

What you have is called "pixel dropout" of the display.

All the rhetoric in the world isn't going to resolve the problem that you are currently dealing with. Call Actia directly and get a rebuilt unit. It should have the uprated/upgrade orange background and once installed it should work just fine.

I replaced mine 4 years ago and it's been working great. This could be a DIY job for you as well. I'm with 62Morgan and lascar.

Another thing as a added bonus is having a new front face on your IP. The cluster will look brand new and that's something that you look at all the time.
