Do a search for "actia" and you will find plenty of reading about a lousy product provided to unlucky Workhorse owners to deal with on their own $$$.
The LED readout is a separate unit and is separately replaceable, per my understanding.
Mine is unreadable, and the option on the table is $760 for a W/H dealer to replace the LED. I have read that if you contact Actia directly, you MIGHT be able to get a recycled unit for $300 or so exchanged, and put it in yourself, and if you're lucky, it might last half as long as the original.
In their piece of brilliant engineering, in addition to making a POS* display, the chassis information is stored in that module, like the miles, max. RPMs, etc.
*Definition: Piece Of $**T
I'm not bitter. I love paying for other's mistakes. After all, I pay taxes.
