Xantrex remote quit??

A while back I was having issues with my slide, I was toggling the key back and forth really fast, all of a sudden I noticed my xantrex remote lights went out?? I am thinking to myself what does one have to do with the other?

I unplugged the cable, plugged it back in, nothing. So I started looking for another remote, found one for 175.00. I called my cousin who I sold my previous rv too and asked if I could bring the remote over to verify if it would work. I plugged it in an she fired right up!! So I was now stuck trying to figure out why?

I found an old phone cord (slinky kind) talk about hard to come by these days, I no longer have land lines. I went directly to the inverter and plugged the cord in and then the remote and the inverter instantly sensed the shore power and shut the inverter down. YEAH!!

Now comes the hard part, figuring out how the oem routed this stupid cord. I will need to install a new rj11 4 wire cord back into the inside to remount this puppy.

I am glad I didn't spend the 175.00 first.

So if you ever have issues with your remote, check the cable first!

On my 98 Tradewinds my Xantrex quit as well. But when I would select invert it would work. Turned out to be a slow blow fuse on the inside of the inverter it was on the small circuit board on the front panel very small slow blow fuse 1/4 amp

Thanks for that info, where exactly is the fuse? Did you have to pull the inverter out to change it? TIA
