Been looking for a year for our first MH. Have landed on purchasing an Allegro Bus 43QRP.

Trying to determine if $251K (after the $5K rebate) is a respectable price to pay as I'm not getting the dealer to go lower than this price that was first quoted 60 days ago.

It's on a Freightliner chasis with options such as sofa/booth dinette, residential refrig w/solar panel, washer and dryer units and kingsize select comfort.

Think its been on the lot for 6-7 months.

Considering the '09s are out what are your thoughts? Is $251K a good deal?

Thanks for your input!

Rod, that's a little over 25%. It would sound OK to me for an '09. I would want more off an '08. The '09 Buses have been on the market for six months.

Rod, I would want a 30% of list and the $5K coming to me.

Not nearly enough off for an 08. Keep beating them up or move on. Good luck.

The Freightliner chassis Allegro Busses aren't as popular so that's probably why this one didn't move off the lot sooner. For that price I'd say "keep it" and then get an '09 with your choice of Spartan or Powerglide. You get the benefits of the new 2009 features plus your resale value will be one year newer when it's time to trade it later on. That would be a substantial amount.

I do understand the dealer not wanting to go lower though. They have so much stuck into it and just because it didn't sell before the new ones came out doesn't mean their cost has reduced any. Actually, with floor plan interest their cost is actually higher now.

But that doesn't mean that's your problem. I'd order a 2009 just the way you want it and still get that same discount percentage.

Thanks for the responses. Looks like I'm going the route of ordering an '09 and getting a better deal.

Thanks again,
Rod

Just want to chime in here and say we just got home from our first trip in our new '09 with the Powerglide. WE are estatic!!! It out performs our '06 Alpine by a country mile!! We can't say enough good things about the powerglide and the Bus. We did what everyone says NOT to--we took our first big trip without a test trip. Our TOTAL problems--we adjusted two latches on basement doors. Our bottom latch on the sliding door in the bedroom is not working properly and will need replacing. That's it folks!. 27,000 miles, one month with 3 nights average in campsites. This coach is a dream!!!

Sorry about this error. It was 2,700 miles NOT 27,000. It occurred to me later that I MAY have added a zero. We pushed hard, but not THAT hard.
