10 gal DSI Water Heater 2018/2019 RED
We are downsizing from a coach with aqua hot to the RED 37BA with a 10 gal water heater. We realize that the water heater has limited hot water for showers. Our biggest question about it is how long does the hot water typically last?
Also, can you tell us the make and model of the water heater? That info should be on the wall in your closet.

Asking how long you can take a hot shower is like asking how long is a piece of string? I can tell you that from dead cold, our 10 gallon Suburban water heater on propane takes about 20-30 minutes to get real hot, which is a great recovery time, especially for two people.
When plugged into electric, it takes a bit longer, and I usually can't use all of the hot water. We use the propane when boondocking....and use as little water as possible.

We have a 37PA and have never run out of hot water when showering or washing dishes.

I have a suburban sw10de, I know cause I just replaced it, I have not timed it but I have no issue taking a decent shower, you could run the electric and propane heater at the same time to help it recover quicker. My previous RV had a 6 gallon attwood water heater, propane only, and I had to be a little more careful, still took a decent shower though.......

That’s good to know. Any chance you could let me know the make and model so I can do a little research on it?
Side note - are you happy with the RED? Would you do it again?

We have the same question, but for a 36LA. We plan to fulltime and wondered how long we could shower.
I did find a video that gives info on the 6-Gallon. Might help determine how long the 10-Gallon.

Suburban Water Heater
12,000 btu burner
1440W electric element
From an initial cold fill....recovery times
Electric.....roughly 6 gal/hr
Propane...roughly 10.2 gal/hr
BOTH at same time.....16.2 gal/hr
And it you have a 'motor-aid' model you will have HOT water upon arrival at destination

We had a Red and a Phaeton and threre was plenty of hot water. Propane was better than electric and using both was even better. Went from the Red to the Phaeton to get more power otherwise both were good coaches.

I would have to look up the model on line as we are currently in the DR and the coach is in the US.
Yes we love our RED but probably will upgrade to a Bus when our house sells for more room and power. We will be full timing then.
