2004 Allegro Bay slide gear boxes

While rolling around underneath my motor home I noticed that
the gear boxes for the slides do not have covers and you can see the gears.
Is this normal? I did not see any place where covers could be screwed onto the boxes - like screw threads in the corners?
My owners manual says that there is no maintenance to be performed.
Does anyone have any input on this issue?

I have a 2005 Allegro Bay 37DB

If you are talking about the gear track, on big slide, 2 of them, no they do not have any covers.

I have sprayed some graphite lube on in the past, but after having the RV for 2 years no problems. I live in the desert southwest, so i do not have any problems with rust, i would not put any grease on them as it would attract dust and dirt.

If i lived in a humid place like you do in FL, i would probaly put some graphite lube on them to prevent rust. There are 2 wheels on each side that a spray a lite coat as well. I know the manual says no requred maint.
