When we have that odor after parking at home and not using the washer for awhile we just run the washer once as it is odor from the elbow line. Try it you might have some good luck.

If you do not use any fixture for some time the water that normally stays in the trap will evaporate. When this happens, there is no longer a water seal to block the sewer gases in the tank from flowing out the open pipe into your rig. From time to time you need to add about 2 cups of water to any trap that does not get wet for sometime. Also, the trap at the washer is one that often freezes in winter as it is near the end of the plumbing system and often forgotten, and no anti-freeze is added as it should be.
