We are looking at a 42ft. bus to replace our existing MH. The coach had only 5000mi on it but there were some major problems. The driver side window and the toilet window were both fogged up on the inside. The driverside also had a fracture in the interior sidewall board just above the driverside window near the windshield. The coach had auto level. Has this been a problem with the Tiffin 06 Bus? The dealer is not a Tiffin dealer and said I would be responsible for getting these fixed so I walked.

The windows fogging wouldn't bother me because replacing them would be very easy if the coach was the right price. The concern I'd have is what fractured the sidewall above the drivers window and caused the fogging.

Was the coach in an accidnent, or had something hit that side of it?

From time to time, we hear about a rash of windows fogging when the manufacturers of them had some process problem. Quite a few Winnebago's had the problem with the drivers window, but ours never did. It's hard to predict if it will occur, but a window is replacable.

If the dealer is offering a really super price, it could be worth considering, but typicall I would have expected the dealer to fix the problems before he tried selling the rig.

Is there an equivalent to CARFAX for RV's? Or can an RV VIN work on their website? If the dealer doesn't know what caused the sidewall fracture, something like this might shed light on the coach's history.

And, if there isn't such a thing for RV's, there should be!

If the windows are fogged, a call to Tiffin might get them replaced under warranty. They don't stick to the one year warranty rule very often. As to a crack in the interior wall, that's a mystery. If there was an issue with the sidewall, such as a stud coming loose, then Tiffin will take care of it under their 10 year sidewall warranty. If it's damage, then you gotta wonder how that got there.

Would they let you crawl under and take a look? You might see evidence of a accident by some fiberglass work? Tiffin might run the Vin and see if they have had it for anything. 5000 miles is not allot though, I would be suspicous as well.
