IF ANYONE OUT THERE IN RV LAND HAS KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE OF THE 2007 OR 2008 TIFFIN PHAETON 36QHS, I WOULD LIKE SOME INFO:
RIDE, DRIVE, HANDLING OF THE CHASSIS.
ENGINE PERFORMANCE; POWER & MPG.
INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR STORAGE.
I HAVE TALKED TO TIFFIN AND WOULD LIKE "HANDS-ON" INFO.. I PLAN TO TRADE IN APRIL. IF YOU KNOW OF A RESALE OR GOOD DEAL, WOULD APPRECIATE IT TO.
THANX SO MUCH

Consider moving your post to the Tiffin forum, as you may get more info there.

JBPACK1 , welcome to iRV2.com . I notice your first post.
i had the chance to drive 2008 for a week and with the four slides Phaeton 36QHS it was smooth , but very slow on take off. if approching a entry to the freeway you best be putting the pedal to the floor and still be going alone slowly wondering if you are not going to get side swipe.. on the other hand I also had a chance to drive a friend 2008 ALLEGRA BAY with the FRED same size 4 slides on 35 TBS and it was 3 times quicker on the start, i was very impress and better mileage 11 to 12 around city driving so highway has top be better then the teens. Also $70,000 less price on the FRED ALLEGRO BAY.

I myself am thinking on trading my 2006 motorcoach in on the 2008 TIFFIN either the Phaeton or Allegro Bay w/FRED both the 36 foot lot easier for state parks and city driving then the 45 footer motorocoach. In 2 weeks there is a large RV show here in ATLANTA Jan 24 to 27 that is when I make up my mine.

This time I will leave my wife home or just give here a few credit cards and tell her to go to the mall.

beaverjim , that was a 2008 a front engine Allegro Bay and yes fred is the front engine diesel. salesman and general manager told me 10 around town and in the low teens on the highways w/o toad . Now they will tell you anything to sell them . 2002 PREVOST Marathon 45 XL is pic in the avatar.
I am in the market for a smaller brand new unit in the 36 to 39 ft and 08 PHAETON 36 QHS caught my eye with four slides. , but it is on a FL chassis , and I rather have a Spartan chassis. I also own a 2006 THOR motorcoach which I plan on trading it in for the 08 Phaeton it is alot easier for DW to drive that and for state parks to get in and out only 32 ft. She test drove the 08 Phaeton 36 and she can and will drive it with ease.
below is the pic of 2006 THOR M/H
I keep it up at the lake house in Atlanta, GA

I own a 2007 36QHS with the Mercedes 2006 engine. To me it seems to have enough get up and go. This engine was pre emission changes done in 2007. I drove a FRED and dont remember much acceleration difference. I can tell you the ride is much smoother and easier steering with the Phaeton vs the FRED. These are the only class A's I have driven and thus others may have better opinions.

My next door neighbor has his spotless 2006 Allegro Bus for sale. 5000 miles, no pets, just 2 trips from PA to FL. If interested PM me.

He currently has it parked in my driveway as we're in FL until April. If it's still there in April I may not be able to resist buying it.
