2008 34TGA Allegro w/FRED Suggestions or Advice?

I am looking at an 08 Allegro 34TGA that has 32K miles on it. I am new to diesel engines and sure would appreciate any specific advice on the unit I am looking at or about FREDs in general. Thanks in advance for all the wisdom that will be shared with me.

Had a 2009 35QBA FRED which we traded back in July. Was a great coach and the move from gas to diesel was easy. Just be prepared for higher cost of oil changes and routine service. In addition to the usual things like tire age and such, look out for the following -

- Freightliner Brake Caliper Recall Fix
- Tiffin issues with roof rails - recall fix
- Tiffin issue with delaminating slide floor on big living room slide - recall fix
- I also had to replace a turbo and an EGR that we're both under warranty.

All in all a great coach, just check the obvious and the items outlined above.

I am just starting the turbo issue with mine at 38000 miles. Check for codes and history codes.

We had the same coach and traded up to a Phaeton. The 34 TGA was a good coach, a little noisier than rear DP, but not bad. I added an inverter, couldn't believe a coach like that was without one. Replace the tires if they are original. Engine wty on the FRED is not in the same league as DP. Some heat comes through the dog-house but there are fixes on the forums if you are handy. No air brakes, no air bags, no air compressor issues, ride is good, but coach is always high above the ground. Extra weight on front end stabilizes coach and it tracks wonderfully. This is a nice compromise between front gasser and rear diesel. GCVW is limiting, I had to go really small on a toad to stay under weight. Great mileage, 50% better than my Phaeton . A lot more manueverable too.
