2008 Allegro Bus 36QSP

We just closed a deal with La Mesa RV on a 2008 36 QSP. Our PDI should be sometime next week. Question is are there any items we should pay particular attention to?

You need to check for what is known as the BIG 3. Or 4

1. roof rail cracks. The radius ( bend ) of the roof where it meets the sidewall.

2. Wetbay floor. Regular plywood floor rots from leaks or condensation.

3. Slideout floor rot. Drivers side front slideout not properly caulked floor rots.

4. Sidewall cracks. Usually just below bedroom slideouts in a corner of sidewall.

Tiffin repars these but there are time limits and this coach might be beyond if not already done.

You also need to check tire date codes if original tires need replacing. Check batteries house & engine if original need replacing.

I recommend you go to. TRVN forum and search for discussions if you want lots of information.

Thanks much for the input. Tires are DOT dated 2014 and the batteries are a year old. There was a little flaking on the rood end caps which LaMesa is taking care of they are also replacing the slide awnings. Actually pretty impressed with what the items they agreed to address. I guess the proof will be in the PDI.

Have La Mesa go thru every working item of the coach with you before driving it off the lot. Ask for a copy of their Maintenance Record of the RV. It will show what was done, repaired, inspected, fluids changed, etc. What fluids and filters were changed, what was flushed? Differential, brake fluid, coolant, transmission, motor oil, generator, hydraulic levelers, power steering.
Nothing is too small or insignificant to inspect and operate. Curtains, Stove, refrigerator, electronics, cabinets, drawers, lights, vents, shocks and prop rods of basements and interior cabinets. Roof ac, frig, air and sewer vent covers. Don't forget the invertor that gives 110v when unplugged. Everything includes the dash gauges, AC, radio, and the undercarriage. Check and inspect everything rubber - bushings, brake hoses, tires, valve stems, belts, engine hoses, radiator puke bucket, washer bucket, hydraulic lines, gaskets and seals. Don't forget the exhaust system - muffler, cat converter, tail pipe, clamps and hangers. If there is a gen set, check the oil, color, and start it up. Inspect all the sliding trays and batteries for corrosian and warrantee expiration.

Service and Parts Manuals.
Copy of La Mesa Warrantee.
Does it have a transferable extended warrantee.

Thanks much for the input. The good news is that La Mesa seems to be doing a very good job of prepping the RV for delivery. The bad news is that the PDI has been moved back another week due to the fact that the rear A/C has to be replaced. But I would rather they find this sort of thing rather then post PDI.
