2009 Allegro Red

We just bought this Allegro Red. We have alway wanted a Tiffin and this one seemed to be just what we wanted. On our way home from Houston TX to Mississippi, on a sunny 90 degree day, we had to run the dash air on high, the overhead fans on high and the generator with both roofairs on and never got the coach cooler than 85 degrees inside. We are very disappointed about this. We never would have thought that Tiffin would design a coach that you could not cool on a hot day. Can't imagine what it would be like out west if it was 110!!! We realize this is a cheaper line of coach, single pane windows and such, but it seemed like a very good buy. Not if you can't cool it!!!! The previous owner bought it in Florida and sold it with only 4100 miles on it. We wondered why the generator had 260 hour on such a low mileage coach. He must have run it all the time he drove it. Anyone else having this problem with the Allegro Red????

I recently bought a 2008 Beaver Contessa. Driving it back from Florida we found that the dash air wasn't too effective except early in the day. We have discovered, and have been told by many, on hot days running the generator is the way to go. With only the front roof A/C on and I have 3 units, the forward part of the coach temperature is quite comfortable.

Maybe your A/C unit needs servicing (charged and/or cleaning the filter).

The PO must have done a lot of boondocking. With 4100 miles the engine drive dive is likely less than 120 hours. It would be 117 hours if he averaged 35mph.

If there's any good news, even if the Tiffin has to get involved, they're just a state away.

All the filters are clean, checked the ac's on top and they look clean. Cools OK at night, but not so good during a hot day. I suspect the air is warming up coming through the ductwork, which may not be so well insulated with the hot sun on the top. May just have to contact Tiffin on this one. Thank you for the reply.
