2009 Aluminum wheel question

Are our wheels coated, or bare aluminum? If you polish yours, after cleaning the brake dust off, do you get a black residue on your polish cloth, or does it remain fairly clean?

If you are using an aluminum polish and getting a black residue, then that means they are not coated. That is normal for non coated aluminum wheels.

I understand, hence my asking before I bought the stuff to polish them. No need to waste money on stuff I can't use!

I figured someone here had already figured this out by now, and could point me in the right direction.
