2009 Phaeton 40 QTH Docking Lights

I'm the proud new owner of a new to me 2009 Phaeton 40 QTH and one of my docking lights has burned out and I cannot figure out how to replace the bulb for fear of damaging either the paint of the fixture itself. I've tried to access from inside the wheel well and tried to unscrew. The lights are about 2.5 inches in diameter and have a very thick lens. Any help on how to replace the bulb is greatly appreciated.

On my 08 bus you turn the socket on the end of the fixture 1/4 turn ctr clockwise and can pull the bulb out. There is also a collar that screws down inside the wheelwell to secure the fixture itself. Probably have to clean things up a bit to see what's going on.. As I recall there is also a connector about 2' back on the wiring harness.
Hope that helps!
