Just sent out to four dealers for quotes on the 2010 Allegro Bus 43 QBP Floor Plan for Tiffin facotry build. Just got the first one in and would like comments on if this looks fare.

MSRP $351,418.00
@ 26.31% Discount $92,457.00
$ 258,961.00 Would anyone know how to figure out what TTL and any other hidden cost I should be looking at

Thanks
Darrell

Price is important that's for sure! One other thing to consider is some dealers may NOT service something that they didn't sell for warranty work. I ran into that before. That offer sounds reasonable to me for a new rig. Have you gotten other quotes yet?

I'm a little puzzled why the dealers are giving you different base prices. If you've sent the same spec sheet to differnent dealers, they should all be starting with the same base price although I suppose they could be adding in dealer prep fees or transportation costs to your quote.

When we ordered our 2008 43QRP, I sent the spec sheet with my total calculated MSRP to the dealers then had them quote their discounted price. I ended up gettign 26% discount off of retail from my local dealer and almost 27% from a distant dealer.

I ended up buying it locally for a slightly higher price as it was worth if for less hassle. Keeping in mind that in 2008 when we bought ours, the economy was much different and rigs were selling quickly, you may be able to get a better discount than we did.

Good luck in your purchase.

On the one, I had added a couple of items and changed a little. And they tried to charge me for a oven. They did say they would match th other bids at this time

Once, you get the price you are happy with, start asking the one you pick for some extras like after market accessories, extended warranty, etc. It is an old negotiating tactic and usually works.

Last year when I was looking (Fall 2008) I could not get anyone to come near a 26 or 27% discount. perhaps because I had a trade And they kept telling me I was getting the discount in the price they were offering for my trade - but every offer still had me upside down in my trade. I thought about trying again in the Spring. Any recommendations on approaching negotiation with a trade?

Negotiate the sale, trade in, and financing all separately. Then decide which of the deals to take and you're done. Makes it much easier to figure out when comparing deals.

By the way, a fair deal is when a willing seller and willing buyer decide on a price. It's not the same for all people.

John
