2010 Phaeton 40 QTH House Batteries

I need to replace my 6 house batteries. What kind should I get and are Sams Club batteries any good for this?

I would use them. As a matter of fact I have been running 8 of them in my boat for 9 years.

I did only get 5 years out of the first set, but that was with total off grid living, with the first 3 years full time.

Lead acid 6 volt batteries are pretty much made by the same few manufactures today. So brands aren't that much different. I like Crown or Trojan. Good Sam sells two brands depending on which side of MS river your on. If you want AGM at 2.5 to 3 times the cost of LA, there good to. Do you know if your present batteries are original from 2010 ?

What you want is 6V golf cart batteries (I think the size is GC2). You can get them at Sam's Club, Costco, BatteriesPlus, and a host of other places. Take a photo of your wiring to make sure you or the installer gets them correct.

Get yourself a battery watering system while you are at it. A couple of squeezes on a rubber bulb once a month and your batteries will thank you (and last a heck of lot longer).

Costco and Sams both have good 6v batteries. In our Phaeton I am using six from Costco bought about 18 months ago. About $85 each iirc.
