2012 Phaeton 36QSH
I am considering the purchase of a 2012 Phaeton 36QSH.
Anyone care to comment about this coach, good, bad, or whatever?
Thanks in advance.

Hey ernieh:
We purchased a 2011 Phaeton 36QSH motorhome last March 2010. We are very happy with the rig. we are very glad to have a 36 instead of a 40 foot. the quality of the Tiffin vs say Newmar is very good. We have had very few problems with the motorhome. We blew out a drivers side window glass on our way last fall to Gulf Shores Alabama. (This could have been a rock chip or pressure change.) Only the outside of the double pane window broke, so we were able to continue our trip. I called Red Bay, did not have an appointment, so they said come on in to the Express Lane. we arrived at the service center at Red Bay the Saturday before Thanksgiving and we did not get into the Service Dept until Tuesday after Thanksgiving, 10 days. They replaced the entire window at no charge and repaired several other minor items on the coach. Other than the long wait, the service was good, camping was free since the coach was under warranty.
I think you will be happy with a 36 foot Phaeton if you go that route.

I love the floor plan and would buy one if moving up. Check tiffinrvnetwork if you already haven't. Several owners there.

We truly love our Phaeton. Tiffin makes an outstanding product and stands behind their work. Have had a few very minor problems that Red Bay has corrected easily. Could have corrected myself or just lived with them, but with the factory being close we just took it up and had Tiffin do the work. Love having the smaller floor plan. For us, it's perfect with just the two of us and our two cats. We travel to many football games and having a slightly smaller rig is VERY helpful getting into some of the away game venues. Pulls my full size truck no problem. Wish we would have bought it years ago.

I only have good things to say about my 2011 36QSH.
We got the 36 footer because we felt it was plenty long for our travels (no more than 3 months at a time), it had plenty of storage, and was not excessively long allowing us both to drive it easily.

Why 36 over 40?

WE just bought that floor plan 5 weeks ago. Love it. Bedroom is a bit small after our Southwind 36E! Storage for clothes limited with the Stacked Washer/Dryer. Remains to be seen whether we will keep the w/d or return to our old ways and pick up mucho storage.
Ride is great and VERY quiet. Even smoother now that we have weighed the coach and dropped the pressure in the tires to Michelin recommended for weight rather than very high 110 on the placard. DW and I can whisper to each other and be heard. Never knew how load our WorkHorse really was.

Just purchased one about 2 months ago and like it so far. Had just a few minor issues and called Red Bay. They said bring it on down which we did and their service was exemplary. Free camping also but the campground could use some paving and grass.
We purchased the 36' because we have a 40' RV port at home. If we had a 40'er, we would have 3 or 4 ft sticking out or have
to enlarge the port.

I full time in my 2010 Tiffin 36 QSH since I got new in Dec. 2009. I got the 36 ft because we visit peoples home and can park in their driveways as I did with a 35 ft M/H I had. The 36 ft works for us and is easier to drive in residental areas and such. I'm not one of the bigger the better group as we travel a lot and don't sit in one spot very long. If I parked for long periods I would get a 5th wheel or a bigger M/H.
