2012 Phaeton check brake fuse message

Just recently I started getting a message to "Check brake fuse" and the check engine light comes on briefly when i step on the brakes. When I release the brake pedal the message goes away. I have checked the fuse banks in the front compartment and cannot find a brake fuse. Does anyone have an idea where there is a brake fuse?

Check the passenger side rearward compartments. There are fuses there for the turn signals and brake lights so it might be back there.

May be related to the recall on the diodes for the brake lights and cruise control. Your 2012 is probably affected by that recall.
