2012 Phaeton, Freightliner vs Powerglide

Looking for comments about the differences between the two on a 40 qbh model we're shopping for.

I have owned both, and will only have a powerglide going forward. To me, there is no comparison in the drive and handling on a powerglide chassis. I really don't have anything bad to say about a freightliner, but if you drive both the independent front suspension on the powerglide will convince you.

Thanks for the comments Steve. The Powerglide chassis does have higher rated front and rear axles so it appears to have a higher ccc. I believe the Phaeton does not have the ifs though. My biggest concern is finding a service facility. Its not hard to find a Freightliner service location.

Cummins services the powerglide. You can find one just about anyplace you find Freightliner. In addition, Bob personally told me I could have anyone do the warranty work and he would pay for it. I have a local chassis shop here in Jacksonville he has used in the past and they love to do work for him. Here is the thing, I have never had an issue with my powerglide. I was in Freightliner I think four times for warranty work on my other.
