2013 Phaeton Exhaust Pipe Rust

We just a purchased it and noticed the exhaust pipe that connects the muffler to the tailpipe trim piece is very rusty. Surprised to see that much corrosion as cars never seem to have rusty exhausts anymore. Anyone experiencing this? Must be supplied by Tiffin as Freightliner didn't seem to think it was supplied by them.
Thx, Don

I was just looking at brand new Tiffins and Newmars, still on the dealer lot, and they all had rusty generator tailpipes. Maybe the chrome plating is not as thick as cars? Use a Brillo pad and it will come off.

Most car exhaust systems have gone to stainless steel, that's why they don't rust out like the olden days.
