2018 32SA Mystery Hatch

This small locking door is on the drivers side - towards the rear - next to the bedroom window. Does anyone know what it’s for?

Since the freshwater fill is on the other side of the coach, I am at a loss as to what this door is for. It’s far too high up to be of practical use.

The shower is located in that general area. I’ll bet that’s exactly it.

Is there a reason why you haven't opened it to see?

It looks like your selling dealer gave you a real good PDI
Don’t feel bad, you’re not the first to ask that question.

It is access to your shower faucet. I know because I replaced mine last year on my 2017 32 SA.

Since we’ve been out in sub freezing temps, I was a bit concerned about the valves being so close to this uninsulated opening. While we never had an issue, I finally took 10 minutes and cut a piece of foam padding (like you buy to make seat cushions) that fits into the opening. Probably doesn’t do anything meaningful, but sure doesn’t hurt.

Along the same line of probably meaningless RV paranoia, a couple times when we’ve been out where the temp has gotten into the teens overnight, I’ve removed the drain access panel on the bottom front of the shower basin so that at least some warm air will circulate into that space.

I think it would be great to cut slots into that panel, but I don’t have a router table to do it....
