We are looking at the above models. Still thinking about the Newmar models. We rented a MH and loved it. The unit we rented was terrible. Sway, tail sway, noise, vibration. Want to know about the following models:

34TGA and 36TA. What have you done. What have you done to make the ride better and safer. Suggestions are needed. Ben and Karen.

I could not ask for a better ride on our 2013 34TGA. We had to do nothing to it's handling performance.

Sway, tail sway, noise, vibration. Yes, you get all of them with the 34TGA.
Noise & Vibration about average. Sway & tail sway are bad. Drive across Nebraska on I-80 on an average day (24 mph winds, gust to 40 mpg) and you will fight the wheel all day. There is nothing between you and Canada to block those wind except a barbwire fence.
The 2015 Allegro Open Road RV have an option "Summo Springs". Allegro states "Summo springs add stability the prevents the east-west rocking motion "In strong crosswinds".
Allegro has been dancing around the handling problems of the Open Road coach for ever and they finally have addressed it. It's an option but well worth the price, what ever the price.
I wish they had stepped up to the plate earlier. My 2013 34TGA could use them.

I installed the Safe T Plus, in ours a few hundred miles after driving it home. I needed it!! We have been on the road for 13 months and it has made a big difference for us. I got sick down in New Mexico, the wife ended up driving and feels real comfortable driving it. Trucks, high wind, whipping, pulling and pushing is minimum.

handling

Driven in all kinds of weather with our "stock as equipped from factory" and zero handling problems. Don't understand people having problems.

F53 Chassis

1 & X2 & X3. Check this forum, check Tiffin RV Network, RV.net, RVUSA, FordTrucks, Forest River forms, Good Sam Forum & etc. or just Google Ford F 53 chassis and you will see dozens of post about the F53 chassis and handling problems. There are dozens of "fixes" listed.
A drive from Denver to Chicago along I-80 might change your mind.

Handling

Oliver 220,
Are you suggesting I look for a problem that is not there? I have found I had to adjust my driving technique to master driving this 25,000# vehicle to feel totally comfortable behind the wheel, namely focusing alot further down the road. This helped big time or perhaps driving at a reasonable speed such as 60 mph max.which is plenty fast and safe enough.

Check ANY forums and you will find people with handling problems. My previous coach was on a 2007 Workhorse W20 chassis. It DID have handling problems....which miraculously disappeared when I had a Steer-Safe front end steering stabilizer installed. After that it was perfect. No idea why my W20 chassis had steering stability problems before that; most others did not. I would suspect same with other chassis's including Ford. Most are apparently just fine, as mine is off the lot.

From what I've heard the shorter, lighter F53 chassis' are the ones that have issues. I haven't heard too many complaints about the 24k chassis. Mine is completely stock and I haven't had any problems.

Now that you mention it, you may have a point there. Mine is also a 24K chassis.

I have a 31SA that is on a 22,000 lb chassis. I had some minor sway issues to begin with, but the CHF took care of all of it.
