37AP How Much Room Inside?

We have been looking at either a 40' or 43' coach. We then came across a heck of a deal on a 2014 37AP. Since we were never inside one (we have been in the 40AP and love the floorplan) how much living space do you actually have inside to live since it is a 37? We are only sometimers looking to retire in about 6 years. How's the basement storage and ride of this sized coach? Is 2014 a "good year" for the Allegro Bus?

It's actually 38ft 11in, practically 39ft. Nice size for 2. If it's the one at RCD, I looked at that one. Note the cracked pad for all the buttons on the lighted control panel in the kitchen. It must've gotten a LOT of use. The recliner is VERY close to the TV & also the fireplace. If you have the footrest deployed, you'll roast your tootsies if the fireplace is on heat mode. The dinette chairs have to be kept very close to the credenza to avoid rocking part way on the carpet/part way on the tile. On the positive side, Tiffin cabinetry is beautiful & well constructed. If I remember correctly, it had a paddle fan in the bedroom - nice. Plenty of basement storage. Didn't drive it, though.

We came from a 40’ Phaeton. You lose about 2’ in length and storage with the 37AP. I found that not to be a problem for us. We too liked the walk thru bathroom which is roomy with a nice shower.
We opted for the L shaped couch. We took out the recliner, don’t consider its style and size very practical. The dog has her bed there now. She enjoys being next to the fireplace.

We looked at one yesterday and test drove it about 15 miles. As stated, it's 38'11" and well organized. It had recliner and sofa bed couch. The ride was smooth and had plenty of power. We're currently in a 38' Allegro Bay thats about the same length only but has 3 slides.

The 40AP and 37AP are basically the same floorplan, except the 40AP has a walk in closet in the back, where the 37AP has a regular closet across the back. The 40AP engine step up / raused area is at the closet entry, instead of along side the bed.

Basement storage is basically the 3' additional in the 40AP.

Mik, where did you drive it at? Are you going to make the jump? Looking at the floorplan specs I thought the 37AP mimicked the 40AP. Did it still have plenty of basement storage? Two interior features I'm a little concerned about is the angle of the toilet and it's placement so close to the wall (no shoulder room) and the recliner next to the fireplace. It seems cumbersome to move. I am traveling to Florida in a few weeks and will be stopping by the dealer to take a look at the 37/40AP in person.

Check the overhead kitchen cabinets when the coach is leveled.put a level side to side on the bottom. If the cabinets are sagging you will have to bring it to Red Bay and have the problem fixed.

Sagging overhead kitchen cabinets has been going on since 2008.

Yes, it's floorplan is almost the same as the 40AP. I think there's a little difference in the way the bedroom closet is arranged. I didn't pay that much attention to the toilet placement as we're coming from an Allegro Bay that's almost the same size. The recliner was easy to move for me, but for it to be used to watch TV in the living area, it must be moved. The basement was roomy, again as compared to our Allegro Bay. It'll be the next RV for us, just not sure if it'll be the one we looked at.

37AP How Much Room Inside?

We purchased a used '18 37AP and have really enjoyed our travels. We did an initial tour out of Florida to Canada with a layover in Red Bay (a get everything fixed stop) and find the coach incredibly comfortable. The living and galley areas don't feel much different than the 40 or 45s that we've been in. You do loose a bit of bay storage space, the closet, stateroom and head are smaller (we don't live in those areas) but that's more than offset by being able to get into all the great remote government campgrounds without issue. It rides well and has loads of power.

Cheers, Win B.

Is that a floor plan specific issue or across the Tiffin product line? We are looking at a 2013 Phaeton right now.

I have a 2013 Phaeton 40QBH. No cabinet sagging issue. Just one data point though.

Doesn't nessisarily have to go to Red Bay. Dealers can order spindles to go from the countertop to under the cabinets. If you want brackets inside the cabinets, then a trip to Red Bay is needed.
