50/30 amp surge protector

My storage facility only has 30 amp power available. Can I use my 50 amp surge protector with an adapter while hooked up or do I need to get a 30 amp surge protector?

Using an adapter is fine.

The surge protector is for voltage spikes , and the amp rating of the service isn't important .

Yep.

We've been doing it that way since 2006 with our first 50a RV. We also have only 30a at storage.
