Adding webcam to TV in living rm

Has anyone (or everyone) added a webcam to the TV in their living room? We're going full time and I'd like to be able to use the TV for Skype sessions with kids.
I don't think I can just add it to the top of the TV - it would interfere with the lid when the TV is down. Appreciate any suggestions from those that have solved this.
(really think Tiffin should just install main TVs with webcams - just IMO)

as always, thank in advance - -

You are going to need more than just a webcam. You need to connect the camera to your computer and redirect the computer output to the TV screen. Is your laptop/desktop capable of HDMI output (which is the easiest way to connect your TV)? Mounting a webcam shouldn't be a problem - it can go anywhere and it can be wireless (which implies you have a network setup in your motorhome. All easy to do, just more complicated than installing a camera.

I think this might be an easy answer for you as well as provide additional benefits. We have an apple tv "box" and have it in the entertainment cabinet and attached to one of the splitters that goes to all of the tvs in the coach. We use it to show anything that we have on our computer, ipad or phone on any tv. In our case, if we are watching a how to video on you tube, or a tv show on Hulu.

In your case, you could simply go to skype on you computer, wirelessly send it to the apple tv and then broadcast to the tv. I just checked and on ebay you can get one for $60.00

I will be glad to answer any questions if you have them. Feel free to pm me. Good luck

So...what I did was to pull out the HDMI to ethernet converters that Tiffin put in. We had a computer, a DVD player and two Dish recievers so I put in an 4x4 HDMI to HDbaseT matrix. Doing this also left an extra ethernet cable from each TV back to the cabinet. I used one with a USB to ethernet to allow for a wireless keyboard/mouse. You could use it for a web cam, too., I suppose.
