Allegro Bay suspension

We're looking to upgrade from a 5th wheel to a class A. One option we've found is an Allegro Bay with freightliner chassis. Does the freightliner chassis hve air ride suspension? Are there any issues with the FRED units?

I could be wrong but I don't think the "fred" motorhomes have air ride or air brakes.

No air bags or air brakes but a good chassis and ride. The front end Diesel engine is of course noiser especially when the fans kick in or pulling a steep grade but not bad otherwise and good mpg for an RV. If serious about the purchase check to see that the driver side slide, wet Bay, and roof rails are ok. Some Tiffin's had issues with water intrusion or factory defects in those areas but were addressed. They were referred to as the big three. Earlier models had more carpet and less tile flooring.

Our 2014 34 QFA with a Freightliner chassis has air suspension and air brakes. It rides nicely. However, the longer the coach, the smoother the ride.

Easy to tell about the air brakes. If there are air guages on the dash, it has air brakes and probably air ride. Air bags are easy to see under front suspension.

Fred's were only built 2 to 3 years, if that's telling you anything. Probably not as bad as a Edsel, they aren't really something a lot of people are looking for. That all said I like them. Dave

Is the 34QFA a front engine? I thought they were pushers.
