Allegro Bus: no brake light to the motorhome plug

I have a 2003 Allegro Bus and have no brake light to the motorhome plug. Am towing car on dolly and have tail, right turn, and left turn. Any suggestions?

First of all, you need to edit your description of the problem in the title section of your post and not post your name. Secondly, I have a 2006 and the fuses are in the compartment with the cord for electrical hookup. Check there to find the fuses for the plug.

I just got through hooking up a seven pin trailer plug and found that Tiffin's wiring is very strange and I suspect it is due to the way the turn signal wires are hooked up. To make the job a whole lot easier I tapped into the wire leading to the Brake Light socket and used that for my brake light switch. The way most Trucks and cars are wired they use a common brake and turn signal wire with I guess a diode in line to cancel the brake light signal on the side with the turn signal working. My 2000 Bus was not wired that way. and the color code was completely wrong.

you have separate signals and brake lites on the MH but not on the tow vehicle? correct.? If so there is a converter on the bus that converts the separate brake lites and signals on the MH to the cars using the same circuit for brake and signals this little black box may be burnt out

I'm assuming that everything was working at one point. If that is true, then it sounds like your problem is a blown fuse. Your fuses for the tail light/stop light/running lights are mounted in boxes marked 1 and 2. Those boxes are normally mounted in the last compartment on the passenger side for that model year. If you don't see them, come forward one compartment or two.

agreed I should have included such information and as said if not fuse check out the brake/signal convertion device (little black box)

I had problems with our tail lights this summer. I called Tiffin. I knew it had to be a blown fuse, but could not find where it was. He talked me to it. It was in the right rear basement bay. I had a black box with a name molded in the cover like Denso. I opened it and found all of the fuses to the trailer plug. This box keeps your trailer or car isolated from the motor home lights. If you short your trailer lights it won't blow the motor home lights too. Wiring right into your motor home lights will load the circuit more and may even cause the motor home fuse to blow with the increased amps. It is best to keep them isolated.

Just in case AGerald is still checking his post, I have a 2003 Allegro Bus also if you are looking for the fuses, look behind the bottom drawer in the center console, there are 2 black boxes that hold fuses. Also some fuses in the front bay under the drivers seat. You should be able to find the fuse in one of these locations.

Those fuses are Freightliner fuses that would be for the motor home. If the motor home lights are good then those will be good.
