The Tiffin RED is on a Freightliner chassis. For some reason Freightliner put the transmission switch control in the RED that does not allow for "Economy Mode". That mode allows the transmission to shift a little earlier, meaning better mileage if on flat ground, already going highway speeds etc. After attending the Camp Freightliner class at the Freightliner factory, I was told bring it in under warranty. They put the new switch in so I have the "Economy Mode". I haven't gone on a long trip since it was switched out. I will say that the dash readout showed between 11 and 13 mpg on a flat highway. Prior to the switch out, it read between 9 and 11 depending on driving speeds. If it is correct, I'm really happy.

Be sure to go to the Tiffin RV network (tiffinrvnetwork.com) forum and ask the same question there. Many RED and Breeze owners are active there. It's free. May or may not get similar answers. More info never is a bad thing.

I am picking up my 2012 Tiffin RED on Saturday. I went through the same thoughts and question around the bathroom. It was suggested to put a latch to keep the door open so you can have easy access. Yes, this does create privacy issues but it is my wife and I and quite honestly, I do not see a time when we could not pull over and extend the slide a few inches if needed.

My 2010 red 36 ft shows mileage of 9.4 mpg for a 9000+ mile trip around the country. Actual calculated mileage after accounting for the generator was 8.9 mpg. The actual mileage was always 0.5 mpg less on my MH while I calculated it through out the trip. It varied a lot. better in the east worse in the rockies but always 0.5 mpg hi on the MH display.

After visiting the factory in Red Bay we knew our next coach would be a Tiffin and we bought the 2011 RED 36 QSA and we are in Love with the coach. The Breeze just didnt offer the outside storage we wanted or the interior room the 36 has. You cannot go wrong with a Tiffin , it all depends on your wants and needs and price.
