Alternator problems 2000 Allegro Bus

This morning we started the motorhome and the battery light stayed on for 5+ minutes and the ammeter indicating low about 10 amps/volts. Would this be an alternator issue? If so, where is the alternator located on this unit?

1.) An ammeter does not display volts, do you have a volt meter or an ammeter or both?
2.) Yes, you may have an alternator issue.
3.) On most coaches the alternator is belt driven, and is located on the front of the engine on gas powered coaches...(on the rear of the engine in diesel pushers).

My meter shows 8 at the bottom 14 at top. I assume it is a volt meter. Right now it's indicating about 10 which is at the low end just above the red. This is a diesel pusher 300 CAT how hard is it to get at the alternator? Would you have to remove the radiator?

Access to the alternator is dependent on the particular coach.
On my rear radiator DP the alternator is on the rear top curb side if my Cat engine and is accessed by lifting the bed platform/engine cover...(radiator removal is not necessary).
