Any CCC Weight Issues on Tiffen RED's

Hi

Been reading the forum on overweigh problems and wonder if anyone has user info on any issues with the RED series being overweight per axel in the delivered configuration or a marginal CCC.

I am looking at a 2010 RED 38QBA specifically but also the 36 QSA.

Anything helps

Del Hoffman

What is the rear axle maximum weight on your RED chassis?

The front axle on our RED 36 QSA is 12,000 lbs GAWR and the rear is 17,500 lbs GAWR. When we 1st got our RED, it was weighed with full water, diesel, and propane. The front weight was 9,000 lbs and the rear was 16,800 lbs. That gave a carrying capacity of 3,700 lbs with 3,000 lbs on the front and only 700 lbs on the rear. Now, after using it for 3 years (not full timing), just had re-weighed at Escapees (same tanks full) and was 400 lbs overweight on the rear axle but still 1800 lbs under on the front. Not much but sewer/water hoses and jack pads/blocks in basement lockers behind rear wheels but clothes and linens in closet and drawers seem to make the difference. Also foods in the fridge (Norcold) and cans under the TV. I don't travel with full water but just wanted to see how much weight had increased using same conditions as original weighing.

Thanks

Yes, we have stacked washer and dryer and built-in Red Devil vacuum. Added plastic Sterilite 4 drawer Unit (needed more drawer space) over cabinet with electric panel in closet and have also switched out original 32" mid-coach TV for 42" and put that 32" TV in front overhead to replace the original 26" TV. Added 5.1 Surround Receiver and Blue Ray player to passenger overhead (No satellite receiver). Don't believe these mods added 1100 lbs to the rear. No other mods that affect weight.

Thanks,
We are similar except we have spare tire without rim in the forward part of basement and we do not have a washer/dryer in our RED.
The PPL website shows a Splendide stacked W/D weighs 215 so I would guess that might be close to our spare tire.

I have wanted to get ours weighed on all four corners just have not been anywhere that offered that.
