Any dealer recommendations?

I went to a dealer in my state of Connecticut to purchase a new 32ca with my 07 access as trade and was not happy with the sales tactics. I made a post on that elsewhere on the forum. He highballed the price and offered close to book on the rig. Not that it matters as it is all about the difference between the trade and the price. but he came out 12 percent under MSRP after his bait and switch.
I am currently in contact with a dealer in Jersey so I am waiting to see if he can meet my offer or be within a grand or two.

If he can't , is there any good dealer recommendations in the North Eastern part of the country? I know there are several near Red Bay but that is about 1200 plus miles for me; I will go that far If I have to but I was trying to get something closer. I believe I have to get a temp pass and then go to inspection. The last dealer I bought from was the next state over and handled all that for me but this would not be possible for a dealer too far away. I haven't looked into the out of state purchase policy in 4 years so things might have changed.

Have you tried Arlington RV in East Greenwich, RI. See my friend Gary Carlson.

I ended up at Alpin Haus in Amsterdam NY and the salesman Steve Q. was great ... My coach is on order now. Much better dealer ship than the Tiffin dealer in S. Windsor CT. They gave me a price over the phone and that was the price they stuck with. No surpirses or unethical business practices.

I am going from Winnebago to Allegro this time. I think the build quality is probably about the same in both brands, but I am getting the bigger tires on the f53 plus bigger tanks and more items that are not put on coaches under the adventurer level but at the same price point as the sightseer.

We are from Iowa. On a recent trip to Florida we shopped motor homes at a dozen dealers along the way. Both small dealers, and big(Lazy Days). Northtrails in Fort Myers, Florida was by far the best deal . Bought a 2010 Phaeton. Dealt with John Improda, a really good salesman.

Try Flagg Rv in North Smithfield, RI. Flagg RV, RV Sales Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Conn., New YorkAsk for Steve Flagg. We have purchased four units from them and have been very happy with the price and service. We do our negotiating with Mike Flagg at their West Boylston, MA store, but they have more motohomes in RI. Our present rig came from there.

They have always been very good to us. If course, we have had all of our service work done at their West Boylston, MA store since it is so much closer. The service manager there - Mike Himmer is a very nice and helpful guy.

If you are looking for coach service and would prefer not using a dealer, RVRUS in North Oxford, MA is good. They are expensive, but do great work. I have had my rig there when Flaggs was too busy.Rv's R Us Inc.* - Your RV Specialists -* Ph: 508-987-7760

Were you doing a trade on your new coach?

Thanks for the info Rbhein. I'm actually looking for a Journey 40U but found out today they are not manufacturing 2012s any more and 2013s won't be available until August. I just may end up with a Phaeton if I can I can get a 40 QTH with corner TV simular to the Winnibago Journey arrangement. I also need to trade in my 06 Suncruiser 38T so wanted to see if Northtrails played that game. Will probably make contact as I'm only 3 hours north of Ft Myres. Thx for the help

We also were looking for the right deal on a 40u, either new or slightly used. When we were quoted a price on our new (to us) 2010 Phaeton we were shocked at the difference. I know I am comparing apples to slightly different apples but I feel like we did really well. Have put 1500 miles and twenty nights on our new rig and are loving it.
