You can still hook it up, you'll just need a union and a splitter or two. The AV box makes things a lot simpler and you don't have to disconnect and connect different components (DVD, SAT, etc.).

Just take a cable from the Satellite output to the TV input you would like to watch.

Good luck!

elbeau54,
On our recently purchased 2008 Tiffin 34TGA I had to hookup our audio control panel along with our DirecTV Receiver. The previous owners had changed much of the coax cables and routed them to other things . I made a picture diagram showing the back of my receiver and control panel and the hookups, I'm going to try to post that here but if it doesn't work just PM me and I will forward a copy to you via personal email. Several things to keep in mind is that my RV has hookups in the water service bay for a tripod and one for cable, the way I set mine up is that I hooked my VCR up to just view a movie and not record anything. Also I would suggest that you "ring out" (check continuity) the coax cables and check security of the connectors on the cable because I found that the previous owner of my RV did not route the coax cables according to the labels on the coax cables, drove me nuts until I checked all of them.

Okay, I tried numerous way to attach a file and can't do it. Please PM me and I will forward a PDF to you via email.
Ron

If I remember correctly, is the antenna amp also in that switch box?
If that is the case a powered antenna amp would be required to power the antenna.

Winegard makes a switch in the newer (2008 and up) Tiffins that serves two purpoases. When you push the button it lights up and powers the amp for the batwing or OTA disk antenna. It also selects the antenna as it's output. When you release the switch the amp shuts down but the switch now connects to the cable TV input. Really, that's all you need for coax as long as you use component A/V or HDMI to connect your DVD or SATV receiever to your TVs. If your TV is older you may need to run composite A/V rather than HDMI or component but either way is better than coax anyway.

Tiffin stocks a lot of parts, and they may have a replacement Winegard selector box available. Give their parts department a call to find out. Have your chassis VIN handy when you call.

McKinney RV is located right across the street from the Tiffin repair facility in Red Bay. They have also have a lot of old parts - some new, some used. They might be able to help.

On the other hand, it may be less expensive to accomplish the same thing with a series of splitters and A-B switches and use the switch mentioned by Cruzer for the antenna power.

If you think you may ever upgrade the TVs to LCD or LED, the Winegard switch box will be more or less unnecessary because the new TVs have multiple input jacks. You can connect the antenna, cable, satellite, DVD player, etc. right to the TV all at the same time (limited by the number and type of input jacks available on the TV itself) and select the one you want to watch using the TV remote. You would still need the power switch for the antenna.

The MagnadyneVCS-7 is similar but not the exact same as the now discontinued Winegard switch box. It will work but it does not have the amplifier built in to power the batwing antenna. Still, if you want to continue using coax to switch everything you could add the current Winegard amp/switch to this selector box and use it to power the batwing.

Do you know the part number of the unit you need? I have the one out of my fathers when we rewired his 2006.
If it will work for you you pay for shipping and I can send it to you, just got approval tonight.

Should have 2 pictures.
