We have one tray and I like that. Easy to put stuff you need often on it. But I would not go with two of them because you lose storage space. Height and width smaller. I use an awning tool to slide stuff in and out in the compartment without the tray. The one the tray is on is very handy because to get to it on the driver side I would have to get down on my knees under the slide to use the compartment. So the full tray is great there. The other compartments I can get to OK.

We have two full size trays. You have to pay attention to the frame rails when storing stuff - I figured taller stuff on the outside, shorter stuff on the inside, but when you pull the tray out, you knock over tall stuff on the other side.... I'm sure I'm the only one who has ever done that??? No full-sized cooler that we have fits under our coach, too tall for the trays, to wide for the narrow bay. But, the trays make it easier to get to stuff in the middle. I kinda wish we had one bay with tray and one bay without.

Regards.

Chuck

slidding trays

Have 2015 37PA with 1 full tray in front compartment and a 1/2 tray on passengers side in vacuum storage compartment. Allows for tall storage on drivers side and easy access to the 1/2 tray on passengers as there is no slide out on that side to impede the access.

I would not have a big RV without a full complement of the cargo trays. I can't imagine crawling under a slideout and digging towards the middle of a cargo bay.

I went (maybe) a little crazy on our basement storage, but we use it a lot. We have 2 of the 90" MorRyde trays. Yes, they do impose a height restriction when you install the full width tray. To use the area beside the frame rails, I made some carpeted shelves to store chairs and other stuff.

Amazon sells the big slideout tray for $500 and delivers it (fully assembled) to you.

The old saying "stuff expands to fill available space" is true....... lol!

Exactly. See my comments above. Two half depth trays are the way to go. IMHO.

If the manufacturer only offers full tray - don't buy. Then have two half depth trays installed aftermarket.

We ordered our 37PA with one slid tray and plan to put smaller stuff in plastic storage bins to keep things from "roaming around"

I have a full width slide. It limits the height of what can be stored, as you pull it through, your stored items have to pass under the rails in the middle. I wonder if the slide could be cut, so the 2 halves could be extended independently?

I doubt it could be cut. If you look at the slide, there are rollers on the stationary frame and on the ends of the sliding tray. There wouldn't be anything to support the back end of a tray cut in half. It would be easier to sell that one and replace it with two half trays.

I have a single tray and after using the coach for a year want to buy another one or probably three.. Being able to slide it either way is a must have for the full length basement openings. Twice while traveling this summer I could not open one side due to a short wall on both occasions. One happened to be a barrier on a highway during a critical fix from a wiper blade mishap in a big storm.
Yes, there is a height penalty, on my older bus i have 12" of height to work with. I found that the 12" tall Rubbermaid bins fit perfectly in there and keep things easy to find. On my basement bays without trays its not fun to get to anything that isn't right at the door.
I just saw that picture of a shelf above the tray, I was amazed to see that as I had just decided to do that while at Quartzite last week struggling with some zero gravity chairs. Right now its unused space. Build a shelf above the tray (not attached to the tray) for tables, chairs etc. There is a perfect amount of space on both sides for stuff like that. I loved the pic, I just need to figure out how he attached that shelf..

My .10 cents.. Inflation has been a lot worse than most folks realize.

I have one bay with full slide tray and one bay without.
You do loose some height... probably 4 - 5 inches.
I don't think I keep anything in my storage bays that will not fit, when on the slide tray.

I usually keep longer stuff in the bay without the tray, just because I don't want to have to unload stuff to get to some small item in the middle of the bay.
The slide tray makes it easy to retrieve those smaller items that are beyond arm-reach.

If I was ordering a new MH, I would probably spend the $$ and get full length slide trays in both bays.

On the 2018 build sheets, they lest as an option a powered cargo bay tray. Wondering of anyone has them? Are they the same size as the normal ones? Any problems?
