The light in the bathroom of my 2007 Phaeton stopped working for the second time. When I went to replace the switch I found that the spade connector was burned. I replaced it and then tested the circut by just touching the two ends. The folks at Tiffin service assure me that the lights are grounded and the switch interrupts the "hot" side. No lights.

A black wire goes into a bundle with other wires. An orange wire seems to go up to the light but at the light (I took it off) there are only black and white wires.

I live near Ocean City, MD. I will buy lunch for anyone that can help if and when you come here.

Colors are confusing, You may wish to ignore them.. For example.. We (Electronics and automotive types) all know that black is ground.. Right?

Well RV's are wired by Electricians, not Electronics or automotive technicians. And to them Black is most deffienetly NOT Ground.. (it is a hot wire)

So the odds are that black wire is hot.

Now the light fixtures ARE built by folks who understand black as Ground, not that it matters.

Have you tried asking on the TiffinRVNetwork forum? Anything you every needed/wanted to know can usually be found out. Every issue I've had has been answered there.
