This assumes the charger is connected directly to the battery posts. If not, and before you buy a spare, make sure nothing is broken, missing or turned off in the chain between the charger output leads and the battery posts.
Assuming you have both the chassis and house battery leads somewhere near each other, the Amp-L-Start is also a popular choice to keep the chassis batteries charged. It does require that the house battery charging system be active, though. We have its smaller brother in the charge line for our toad.

I took both batteries out and they are currently on separate chargers in my garage. When/if they are fully charged, I'll take them in for a load test.
After I get this part sorted out I'll look at the AMP-L Start as well.
