I've read posts that added (1) stays cleaner, less ingestion of road debris, (2) the drive mechanism is far preferred over belt-driven & (3) allows better access to the engine w/o being in-the-way. Perhaps an owner can chime in...

Try to change a simple fan belt or alternator and you'll know one of the main reasons!

The - it's cleaner is the big thing for me. I have had both and the rear radiator was WAY dirtier WAY faster. Cleaner means cooler and that includes water and air charge and tranny. All cooled in one stack. The bad part- you loose a side pod of storage.

All the above and I gave up side storage to see my motor plus I changed my serpentine belt in about 1 min. Hyd filter change in about 30min standing up, not bent over or on my knees, plus fuel filters are right there EZ change.
