Biodiesel Fuels?
We just purchased a 2012 Tiffin Allegro RED with a Cummins 340 turbocharged diesel engine. This is our first time purchasing a diesel engine RV. The nearest gas station to our home carries Biodiesel fuel and they tell me that it is okay to use in our motorhome. Does anyone have any experience with the biodiesel fuels? Good or bad? Thanks for any input!

Go to the Cummins web site and nose around. If I remember correctly there is information on Biodiesel there. Don't trust what you might read on the forums about it. If they are wrong it could cost you thousands in repairs.

I would be very skeptical about running bio fuels on a 2010 emission vehicle due to all the downstream after treatment devices that may not be able to process Biodiesel. The ATD and SCR may be sensitive to anything other than ULSD.
Make sure that you communicate this concern to Cummins and that they qualify Biodiesel as a suitable fuel for your new motorhome.

If you do find Bio-diesel is OK to use in your engine, just be aware that you will see a fair drop in your miles per gallon. A gallon of bio-diesel contains about 118,296 BTU of energy and a gallon of regular diesel has about 128,500 BTU. Less energy available to drive the same rig means more gallons of input needed. You can do the math or just do an empirical test in your rig.

If you want to keep your warranty intact, go by what Cummins says. You're probably limited to B5, B10 or B20.

Thanks to everyone for their input! I did check on the Cummins website and they have a good sized FAQ page regarding using biofuels. Supposedly we are okay to use the B20 and everything is still under warranty. Don't know though if that means you should use it all the time or if you can switch back and forth. We will probably just use the regular diesel easily available at our nearest Pilot/Flying J. But, I will follow up with Cummins after we take delivery of the coach regarding the occasional use of the Biodiesel. Thanks again!!
