Brakes are dragging 2017 Tiffin Pheaton 40IH

Help please? 2017 Tiffin Pheaton 40 IH had previously driven over 1000 miles with no problem. Friday drove 30 miles to Camp site by the time we arrived approximately arrived approximately 1hr all 4 wheels were so hot you couldn't touch them. Something has caused the breaks to drag. This is a powerglide chassis. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Sounds like it should be warranty repair. Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Got good pressures on the gauges? Any sounds of air leaks?

Was it hilly on the hour trip ?

Did you have the engine/exhaust brake on ?

Will the MH roll at idle, in gear, with brake off ?

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.

Were all the wheels very hot or was it isolated?

Happy Trails!!!

Any chance you are a left foot braking person? Resting your foot on the brake pedal will cause them to drag and overheat. Driving in mountains and not using your exhaust brake will also overheat your brakes as many people don't know how to drive in mountains.

Call Tiffin and get the nearest PowerGlide service center and get in touch with them. If you truly have a problem, you will most likely need to be towed to the service center.

Did they smell burnt? Overheated brakes have a distinct smell.

Why don't you start the engine, using the leveling jacks lift the front off the ground, and go out and see if you can rotate the front wheels by hand. That will prove to you whether the front brakes are dragging as you fear.

Put a couple blocks on the ground underneath front jacks if you need to before you start. You don't need to go way off the ground, just enough so the tire isn't touching the ground.

I think we have another one and done troll. DFrantz, if you are not a troll, then I appologize but people are trying to help you and no response on your part does tend to raise suspicions.
