Braking system Jeep Wrangler 2019 45 OPP bus
Braking system-Jeep Wrangler for 2019 Bus 45 OPP
Suggestions for aux breaking on TOWED Jeep Wrangler. I do not want complex system
I also will be towing a 26 ft In closed trailer some time hauling a car
I have not bought trailer yet .

The simplest system to hook up when you tow is an air brake like the M&G or Air Force One. Both require more installation, but there's nothing to take in and out of the Jeep. Once installed, it's just a matter of hooking up an air line in lieu of placing a box in the floor. If you want to go with an uninstalled system, the RVI3 is a great choice. I used the RVI2 for three years until I got a coach with air brakes.

AF1 would be my recommendation. Generally considered the best system for a air brake equipped coach. Easy to connect for travel.

I have the Blue Ox Patriot in my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
No problems have surfaced.

Air Force One for sure. Once it is installed the only thing you have to do is connect the air hose between the two vehicles. So that is just a minute. Every thing else is permeant and not seen. to disconnect, just remove the air hose and place the small caps back on the tow connections at the rear of the coach and the front end of the tug....
Connects to the air lines on the coach so is very progressive.
I do NOT or feel the piston that is connected to the brake pedal. Jeff

I just setup my new 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JL to tow behind our 43’ Phaeton. I have used the Airforce One air braking system on our last 3 toweds For the towed wiring I suggest looking at cool techs towed wiring package. https://www.cooltechllc.com/
You only have to splice into 4 of the jeeps wiring along the passenger door sill. Then you have a toggle to throw to the towed position or Jeep position. Very nice setup. I hate having to break into the taillights to wire in diodes & then running wire all the way up to the front of the Jeep. You can’t go wrong with the Airforce 1 braking system and cooltechs wiring system.

I replaced my US Gear system on my 09 Wrangler with an M&G and am very happy with it.

Not unless the trailer has hydraulic brakes. And it would take two seperate systems.

Trailers can be built with no brakes, electric brakes, or hydraulic surge brakes.
Hydraulic surge would require no hookup, as it has a sliding hitch, and automatically puts on the brakes as the trailer tries to push against the hitch of the rv. The quicker the rv stops, the harder the trailer brakes get applied.
Electric would have to be set up in the coach by installing an electric brake controller in the rv.
No brakes.....will have no brakes.
None of the trailer brake systems, will connect or be activated by the air system of the rv.
