Breeze Wetbay Modifications

Thought I'd send along two pictures showing my modifications which;
1. Added a sediment filter
2. Added a pressure gauge to measure park pressure
3. Added a Watts 263A regulator to improve the flow vs my old in line regulator
4. Added piping so I can use the fresh water hookup to flush my black tank(of course I used a check valve)

Nice job but I would not leave the link from fresh water to tank flush even with a valve between them as microbs can go right past a valve and it is not to code-----hope you don't get sick.

Well, hopefully it won't be an issue for three reasons:
1. We carry drinking water so our tank water is only used for external purposes
2. Many, many, many other people have plumbed their RVs this way with no problem
3. Having both a shut off valve and a check valve should minimize the chance of microbs getting into the fresh water system

Re: number 1, anytime you are on the road or dry camping at a rally, and wash your hands or rinse your tooth brush, you could be using contaminated water out of your "fresh" water tank and defeating your defense for using that source for "external" purposes only.

Re: number 2, justifying the plumbing addition on an assumption that others have not gotten sick is not enough assurance for me. I would add a 12 volt UV light filter in line for any water reaching your faucets.

Re: number 3, valves "should minimize the chance", but personally I would not buy a motorhome with this type of plumbing change, nor will manufacturers design it that way due to liability issues or applicable regulations.

Then again, maybe my approach of using a separate, dedicated 25 foot hose for the flush connection to a "Y" with shut off controls along with another check valve at the water pedestal is somewhat similar just a lot longer piping. I do, however, have a UV filter inline.

Breeze Man I think you're good to go. I've had mine set up similar for several years now. Also you may wish to check out the discussion on A Part of the TiffinRVNetwork • Login about this kind of setup.

On edit: I see it was you that ask the question over there. If Mark, Joe & Ted all agree that it's OK on a Tiffin, I'll have to go with them.
