We hit a swarm of locust and although I washed them of the front of our Bus the goup is extremely tough to remove. Does anyone have a product that will remove the remains from the clear bra without ruining it? I have tried bug remover, wax, soap, and plastic polish and none will remove the marks.

I've had success removing bugs and the goup using Protectall. I buy it by the gal at Camping World, but you WalMart sells it by the bottle. It's great stuff.

For the bugs I use a nylon mesh scrubbie, made from nylon net material. Mine are homemade but anything similar would work. I just wouldn't use anything harsh like the Scotchbrite type.

The other thing to try is plain warm water to soften the goup. Much more time consuming IMHO.

I've never tried it myself, but many people recommend fabric softener sheets dampened with a little water.

I usually just let warm water soften the bugs, then use the nylon-mesh scrubbie side of my windshield squeegee (not the rubber blade) to remove them. Microfiber cloths also work in place of the nylon mesh.

Gary, try some Simple Green and a 'dobie pad'. I use it all the time to get the bugs off the front. Unfortunately it takes the wax off too, but it shouldn't harm your clear mask. I have the 3M mask and there's no problems with the above.

A 'dobie pad' is a sponge wrapped in a nylon scrubbing material, which is used to wash teflon pans. You can purchase one in any super market.

I have used dryer sheets for years with good results on both MH and motorcycle windshield.

I buy the Bug Windshield Washer fluid from Wal-Mart and then use a "dobie pad". It does an excellent job of taking the bugs off. I soak the entire front and then begin at the top and work my way down.

I have found that just hot to warm water and a good cloth will remove the bugs from the front mask. No chemicals or scratching that could harm the finish. I reuse an old bottled water plastic container and one of my blue paper shop towels and it works great.

A little late to answer but I thought I would give you "my formula". Prestone Bug Wash" which you can get at most any auto store works for me. Dilute 8:1 water to solution in a bucket then wet the front surface including windows. Use your sgweegie or the nylon dobie pads if necessary and wipe down. A friend who also has an 05 MADP washes his entire coasch with it including the wheels. Won't take the was off either...so they say.

I usually try to put some warm water on the area to let it soak for awhile. then I use a little soap and water along with a bug pad to clean. Unusually hard to remove spots I treat with Lifters bug ang tar remover. This is a last resort because it will also remove the wax.
