Bus 37AP or 40AP

I have been researching these 2 for several months. They have similar floor plans and equipment. The two biggest known differances are the tag axle and the extra 2 feet of length. Ihad viewed both of these differances as negatives until talking and recently reading more. My concerns stem from the standpoint of ease of driving and fit into some parks.

I have read and now been told that a 40 tag axle should be easier to drive as compared to a 37 without a.tag axle. Also the tag axle will be smoother and more stable. It has also been pointed out that in most cases where the 40 will not fit the 37 would not either, particularly as the 37 is 38.7 overall.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Mark

I would go with the 40'. You will not be sorry. If you go the 37', you will lament not going with the 40'. The tag makes a huge difference. Great floor plan and coach BTW.

We had 37 previously, now 40. We fit everywhere we did with the 37.

The 40 Tiffin is NOT a tag axle. The rest of your comments are valid.

The biggest difference in ride will come from the additional 26" of wheelbase on the 40s... longer is smoother and more stable, even without a tag. Although if you are a newbie?? they will both ride very nicely, and you will think both will be very long! Even many state and nat'l parks can accommodate 40s in some(not all) of their sites.

We have the 37AP and sometimes I wish that we had the 40 only because of the extra 1/2 bath ( because of my age ) and a few extra feet of storage.

That being said we are very happy with our 37 after we made a few changes to the furniture. When you watch TV you have to turn your head right or left, so we put in the third TV in front of a new recliner sofa.

We had down size from a high end 45 with a tag, and we will never go back to a tag or a larger coach.

I have own 7 45's with tag's and I think this 37AP ride is as good or better, it is a great coach for the money. I lost more money in depreciation on our last coach than or 37AP cost

A few important things: 150 Gal of fuel, great mpg, large engine, large holding tanks, three air conditioners, tile floors, large slides, great floor plan, plus many other items.

The 40AP does not have an extra 1/2 bath. It is identical to the 37AP except for the extra storage between the bedroom and closet.

We bought the 37ap after 6 years in an itasca gas unit. We love it. Just did 4000 miles in two weeks. A few punch-list items, but so far so good. The ride is great and high "drive ability" factor.
