Because the corporate lawyers insisted on playing CYA and because they have to write it for the biggest idiot out there who has a personal lawyer on retainer to bail him out of his innumerable idiotic mistakes???

Leveling jacks can slide and rear suspension damage can occur. Just because you've done it that way for years doesn't mean it's right.

I understand that leveling jacks can slide (not a good thing)...but I don't understand how any of this would damage the rear suspension. Can you explain that? Thanks.

I carry 2 x 12's under the slide-out tray in the basement. They are 18", 21" and 24" long so I can stagger them and drive up on them with any corner of the coach. I put them under just one of the dual tires if needed on the rear (I don't have a tandem axle). I figure any tire should be able to carry double the weight in a static situation with no problem. I used them several times when I had air leveling and the slope exceeded the leveling capability. Now that I have hydraulic leveling on our new coach, I may use them under the jacks.

The rear suspension is not designed to hang unloaded. Damage to suspension components and air bags can occur. If I hadn't had a coach slide on the jacks (base was gravel) I would say it isn't possible. Experience is a great teacher.

This maybe a dumb question but in that type of case does the air level not become a alternative to the jacks? I take delivery of a 45 bus a week from this Friday it’s my first class a.
