Cap rails on 43

We are looking to buy a 2011 Bus. I have been told that they have a problem with the cap rails and the floor in the sewer compartment. Is this true and what else should I look for? Thank you.

Yes that's true and Tiffin will repair them, no charge, at their service facility in beautiful, exotic Red Bay, Alabama.

you can Call Tiffin have the Vin number and you can ask them to check files of any of the Big 3 that have been done to the Rv.. since its an 2011 I believe they had those issues corrected by then. FYI., my 08 only had wet bay issues and was repaired the cap rails etc were non issues..

The Big 3 issues were not fully rectified till near the end of the 2012 model year.

Yes, we also recently bought a 2011 Bus. We called Red Bay with the Vin, and they told us if any of the "big three" apply. These are roof rail, wet bay floor, and DS Slide floor. Tiffin is still making good on these issues, so don't let it stop you from getting an otherwise good Bus. You just will need to take it to Red Bay.

We are currently at Tiffin having the roof rails and DS floor done over the next two days. Wet bay floor is plastic (rather than wood) so was either already fitted at the factory or was retrofitted. 2011 Tiffin Phaeton, which we bought used last year. I was aware of the 'big three' at time of purchase and it did not deter me. A few dealers around the country are now doing the remediations for Tiffin as well. As suggested call Tiffin with the last six digits if the VIN. They can readily tell you if applicable and if already done.
