Carbon monoxide alarm

We own at 2013 Allegro Bus. We have our RV parked we are plugged into 110. Our 2 rear heaters are set to 69 degrees Fahrenheit. The CO2 alarm goes off a couple times a day. Has anyone had this problem?

They generally have a 5-7 year life. You may have to replace it.

Yes, it may be time to find a replacement.
We also have 2 stand alone carbon monoxide/smoke detectors - just in case ...

First, that's a carbon monoxide detector, not CO2, so you need to investigate why the alarm is going off. Are you cracking a window to allow fresh air to enter the coach while you are heating it?

If those two rear heaters are electric, then your CO detector has failed and needs to be replaced. If those heaters burn any kind of fuel, you need to open a vent and do some investigation.

The alarm unit is 5 years old or more. They are designed to need replacement after 5 years of use. Buy from it Tiffin Parts, about $40, much cheaper than on line and only a couple of months old.

My CO and Propane alarm started alarming this fall. I reset it and it happened again. My coach was built in Dec 2013. I have bought a replacement. Couldn't pass up the deal; 60% off on cyber Monday. After doing much research I am beginning to suspect I may have low voltage to the existing alarm since it is only 4 years old. Corroded butt connectors or house battery terminals could be causing the problem. Coach now in storage. Will do more troubleshooting later this winter/early spring.

Thanks for the input! I appreciate it. Will be replacing it and get a stand alone monitor.

Check your batteries for excessive gassing. That can cause false CO alarms

Check the date

If possible, check the date on the new detector as well. I recently purchased one at my local RV parts store which was already two years old when I bought it. These things have a shelf life.

I was hoping the 5 year time frame started after power was applied to the unit.

Nope, it's from the date of manufacture. That's why I suggested buying from Tiffin Parts Department, the units are fresh only a couple of months old.

Yes, my 2014 bus co detector goes off constantly when stored in garage . After I get it out on the open road and in rv park it will not go off. When stored in garage it's plugged in to 50 amp service and no heat or appliances running. I think exhaust system leaches out causing sensor to go off. I wired a toggle switch to turn it off when in storage. I don't really know why it goes off.

That was the cause in mine. One battery under the entry step with a bad cell. Replaced the battery. No more alarms.
