Changing Gen Fuel Pickup Tube

My generator cuts off when I've used about 35 gallons of a 100 gallon fuel load. I suspect that the problem is with the fuel pickup tube. The Monaco group has a good discussion of this problem (http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/at-w...-195348-2.html). The answers run from "soldered in place, so no DIY change-out" to "easy job, just a little hard to access". I've read that on some coaches the fuel tank has to be dropped.

Has anyone had this problem on a Diesel-powered Tiffin product and fixed it themselves?

As always, thanks for your wise council. I'm still a rookie but I'm learning fast.

How are you determining the fuel level in the tank? Fuel gauges are not super accurate in these things. You might want to visit http://tiffinrvnetwork.com and get some more Tiffin specific answers.

How I Know

Thanks for the link - that is a new site for me. I know about how much fuel was in it because I drove about 50 miles after it cut out and the tank held about 40 gallons. I know what you mean about the fuel gauge. Last month I took it down to under a quarter tank on the gauge and it only held about 55 gallons.
