Checking oil

Hi Everybody... just getting into RVing. We purchased a 2102 Tiffin Allegro Breeze 32 in June. Had everyhing on it inspected. The Oil and all filters replaced and so forth. Now we are getting ready for our first road trip so I wanted to do my own basic checks such as tire pressure and fluid levels. When I was attempting to check the oil I found that trying to pull the dip stick was much harder then what I was accustomed to. It required quite a lot of force to get it to start coming out. when it did come out a few inches I noticed that it looked like a cable and not a dip stick that you would see in a car. I stopped pulling it out because I thought that maybe I was doing something wrong. Can anybody tell me if this cable looking dip stick is the normal dip stick for this?

Is it a diesel? Because diesels generally have very long dip sticks and often coiled cables because of that.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes, that’s the dipstick. I have a 2011 Breeze 28 and the dipstick is really long.
