Cleaning slideout rubber seals

I have a 2014 Tiffin Allegro and the rubber seals that meet up with the side of the coach when the slides are out have some paint and glue type substance on them. What is a good / safe product to use to clean these seals before I spray some foam product to moisturize them and keep them in good condition?

Try Brake Clean to remove the crud. I use Glycerin liquid to keep the seals supple. It's obtainable at Target and just about any Pharmacy. It comes in a liquid form and you just rub it into the rubber seal. Back in the 60's, 70's and 80's when Porsche's had a lot of rubber seals visible to the atmosphere, they recommended glycerin to protect the rubber. It's a bit more work than just spraying on a product but in the long run, it provides much better protection.

You are probably better off spraying them with 303. Very good UV protectant. No real need for lubricants which just attract dirt. BTW, use 303 on your Diamond Shield as well.

I wash the seals with soap and water. Let dry real good.
I spray the seal with Spray Silicone.

Then I put an old sock on my hand and put a bunch of baby powder on the sock, rubbing onto the rubber seal.

In the Navy we would use a piece of wood to rub dry paint off the rubber gaskets on doors and portholes. Not sure if that would be bad in your case. But it works.

Fishcamp, As good as silicone spray is, it has its faults, namely if you need body work on your coach. Paint won't stick to any surface that's been sprayed with silicone. I don't care how hard to try to remove it, it always stays.

I just had a new rubber seal installed at the Tiffin service center. It made a squeaking sound when the slide moved. Tiffin Tech said to never use anything on the rubber seals except baby power. They have every cleaner and lubricant available for their use and never use any thing other than baby powder for "lubing" new slide seals.
