Compartment Leaks Class A
Has anyone had this problem? First trip in new coach was to Red Bay to get warranty work done and on the way down it rained. When I got there I discovered that all the compartments on the passenger side and the the utility compartment were full of water. They replace the the gaskets with the old style gaskets. Shortly after returning home my wife & I went on our first trip and it rained. Checked the compartments and the same thing happened they all leaked. Here's a picture of the new gaskets and in the corner's you can see how it might not get a good seal. Went to the dealer and it has to sit there till it rains so they can see where the water might becoming from. If anyone has had this problem would like to here your input. This is our second coach with the same problem happening. Here's a picture of the new gasket. All the corners look like this.

Have had continuing problems since new... 6 years ago. Had my gaskets were replaced and did not stop the problem. I adjusted the door to close tighter and it helped on two bays. I had a major problem with bay in front of rear wheel. I finally took spray foam and emptied the can in the front portion of wheel well hoping to seal the leak. It helped and used a second can and sprayed to cover entire wheel well and up onto frame. Very small leaks during heavy rains. However, the seals still leak on a couple bays. I have not been able to stop this. The rear most bay had water enter from the rear cap area. I took another can and sprayed in every place I could see of possible entry. It is much better. In heavy rains after driving for several hours, I still get a small amount of leakage. I used to open the bay doors and water would pour out. Now it is only damp in heavy rains. I blame the seals.
The dealer after a smoke test said it was fixed. Wrong. I put a light in the bay at night and although I could not see light... still leaked. It does not leak except when driving and in moderate to heavy rains for an hour or so. Your dealer telling you let it sit and see if rain gets in is ... baloney. You can take a hose and check that.

Welcome to the leaky basement club. My passenger rear compartment (in front of rear wheels) leaked badly.
It is not coming from the seal. Use a hose and get underneat and start spraying between the compartments, behind, above. It might be coming from anywhere.
I visited the factory and saw how they assemble the compartments onto the frame and that indicated to me where (anywhere) the water could be coming from.
As it was said before, use expanding foam and start filling nooks and crannies. At one point, foam was coming thru the carpet between the joined compartments (2 separate doors). Water did not come from there but I could see there was nothing that would prevent it from coming in.
After the 4 cans of expanding foam and 3 cans of car undercoating, it still comes in a bit.
So I cut the carpet off the floor and about 6 inches all around the compartment. Placed an absorbing towel and only stored plastic items there.
I can live with that.
Good luck.

Leaks
Yes this problem just follows us. We bought a different coach because of there reputation of taking care of there customers yet to be seen. While at the factory for warranty was told by the tech that they change gaskets because customers complained that it was to hard to close the compartment doors. Got wider gaskets and got the the same leaks. ?????

Our good friends have a "Bus", they only drive it on days with no rain. Now I know why.

compartment leaks
Yes, Tiffin does have a problem with the passenger side compartments. The first time it happened, I thought that I had'nt closed the door all the way( first latch). I dried out the boxes I had found that fit well in there, along with all the tools and parts that were stored in there. After the next rain, same thing, only boxes were shot. I then put some more weatherstripping on the opening, and found new boxes, and put heavy plastic 3/4 of the way up on them. Good thing as they are now setting in an inch of water . I was hoping that if they had the same weather strip that the main cargo doors had on them it would end the problem . However I see from the post, that it was tried to no avail . I guess I will have to take it to a dealer and see what they can do.

Gasket seal repair
My 2004 Bay does not appear to have this dilemma.
My former S.O.B. , unfortunately, did have it.
Try this item:
Permatex 80338 Black Rubber Sealant
I would dope it into the crevice of the gasket; let it dry completely before closing the door against it. Good workmanship will determine your results.

I have leaky compartments on my 2004 Gulfstream Sun Voyager also. I had a time figuring where the water was coming in. It comes in from the inside top of the compartment. The top is not solid and they have foamed the outside top but I guess they did not do a good job. I bought some spray foam from Home Depot and was able to repair several of the compartments but noticed lately when it rains very hard I get water in to several of them. Even when just setting.

Well, well. I see that many others have the same problem. I own 2007 Allegro 32BA and had a leak in the compartment just forward of the tire on Passenger side. Tried everything including foam. It then developed a leak in the forward compartment Passenger side. This year it is leakproof. We put a portable light inside the compartments at dark and saw the problem ... sloppy installation of the gaskets. We went to Lowe's at Myrtle Beach and purchased 12 foot roll of 1 inch self adhesive gasket material. Looked at the doors and found where the gaskets were touching because of discoloration. Put 6 feet on each compartment. It closes rather hard at first but after a couple of weeks, it settles in. Bottom line ... no more leaks!

I guess your way of telling it (sloppy) fits most new rv's built these days.
good choice of words and very true.
