Considering New Tiffin 45'-UP w/ 600-HP Cummins

We are considering a NEW (2015-2016) Tiffin 45'-UP w/ 600-HP Cummins.

Does anyone know of any problems as to why our choice should be reviewed or changed?

Is there any history on the 600-HP Cummins?

What should I look out for, should I order this?

Thank you for your considerate comments.

The ISX15 600 hp has been around in the current configuration since about '10. There was a major redesign then and the current engine seems to be very reliable.

We purchased the same bus a month or so ago with the 450... We were quoted 82,000 up charge for the 600... really thought about it but just couldn't justify the difference...now I'm happy we went the way we have...plenty of power towing a 16 ft box trailer with two harley ultras plus all kind of other stuff...plenty of power...

We were having the same mental battle on the 600 hp and while the upcharge is $82K that is MSRP so with really good dealing discount 28 % ( maybe ) it is still alot of diesel fuel to put into the 450 hp which is a very good engine.

The other mental battle we have been having is IF we go with another Tiffin. Our current 09 Bus 40 QSP has been without a doubt the most problematic of the 5 motorhomes we have owned. Tiffin has been very good about covering all design/build issues over the years and fortunately for us a local repair facility is authorized and capable of those repairs.

However in our opinion at this time we feel Tiffin is still having QC/build/design issues and so we have decided not to purchase another Tiffin at this time !

Agreed. The '07 ISX dual overhead cam engine like ours had a LOT of problems and Cummins came out with a new head and valves to cure it but they still won't really guarantee it.
The newer '10 version is a single overhead design and seems to be more reliable.
$82,000 upcharge? WOW!!!

My husband and I are considering the same coach. Would love to hear the pros and cons of this one. I can't see anything wrong at this point. Was nice to get the feedback on the 450 vs 600 because we were considering the 600. Glad to hear the 450 is enough as we'd only be towing the Jeep Wrangler.

Thoughts ? Comments ?

Have 2013 LP with the 450 hp, towing a Tahoe and or Caddy SRX and at times a Wake Board Boat. I have had no issues with the 450. There are times when I would like the extra HP on hill climbs and passing but the dollars do not offset that need. I'm not full time so that may play a factor if you are traveling a lot.

If I were to buy a new coach I would stay in the 450/500 range.

Not a Cornerstone as that has a 600hp and can't justify cost as I feel the 450hp does the job just fine !

If anyone is interested in an Entegra Anthem, contact National Indoor RV centers in Lilburn (Atlanta), GA. They have 15 coming in that they got a deal on (another dealer cancelled). Great People. I dealt with James Townley.
