Thanks for the info on this thread. Sounds like I need to contact Sherman as I'm wanting a Phaeton 37BH. Any input on the all-electric option?

We opted to get the heated floors, but kept the propane, just because we like to boondock and like the option of being able to cook without the electricity. No built date for us as of yet.

We like the all electric. We don’t boondocks much and wanted to be rid of propane. The stovetop has worked great and we like both the floor heat and hot water from the Aqua Hot. We would choose it again.

Thanks
Sounds like I need to decide which I would prefer as there doesn't appear to be a right or wrong answer. Thanks for the input. Looking forward to moving on this.

You might want to take the time to prep your toad while you are waiting for the build. Most of the work is on the toad. Buy all the set up plate and wiring, tow bar etc. Practice towing it behind a pickup til you know everything is working and safe. We bought a gmc terrain and had a trailer hitch added to the rear. Rented a uhaul trailer and brought all our "stuff" with us when we took delivery. Then we were ready to go and the terrain was already prepped as a toad. This allows you to concentrate on the mh when you are taking delivery. Most local car mechanic shops can set up the toad.

Great all sound advice for the newbie. I am wondering since I live in Texas do I need to be concerned about having to go to MS or AL for warranty work? Any experience with Dealers around Austin or San Antonio doing warranty work on a coach that wasn't purchased from them. Any input is appreciated.

Ingram was very nice and did have several Phaetons on his lot, but my wife wanted a certain color, so we ordered.

We ordered ours on the same date you did. Do you have a build date yet?

If this was covered already I apologize, but what exactly is the county tax you pay when you purchase from Davis? Is this a special tax in Tennessee? Even if you are out of state?

Yes, special tax applies to all purchases, but Davis took care of it. My net price did not go up. Ask them. I did the registration and state tax directly with VT myself. So was VT DMV. They actually sent the docs and receipts to a temporary address for me. Davis was great about the whole transaction.

Yes, it’s a tax you can’t avoid. It’s not a state tax but local and everyone gets it from what I understand. I am hoping NM will deduct that from the state tax I will have to pay when we register in NM.

Just got our build date from Ingram and unfortunately it's the same time as the Tiffin Rally in Goshen where we signed up as volunteers. Had to cancel out of the Rally to go watch the build, so there's an open spot at the Rally! Looking forward to a week in Red Bay.

if my math is right this amounts to 300 for every 100,000.
if davis does reasonable deals and doesn't hide false options, nor pile on the fees. this 300/100000 wouldn't stop anyone from buying.
especially if they gave a fair trade value!
i didn't give them a shot at my deal...
